Italian fashion house Gucci has this week launched the second edition of its #guccigram digital art project, which sees a number of online illustrators create artwork featuring the Gucci Bloom and Gucci Caleido motifs.

This time around, artists reimagine the Tian print – a 10th century Chinese visual that typically features bird and flower paintings – through such techniques as surrealism, contrasting graphics, and a nod to contemporary culture.

The best example comes from Chinese image-maker Cao Fei who interpreted the print through a crumbling urban setting that juxtaposes century-old art with modern-day Chinese industrialisation.
