Multi-brand retailer Dover Street Market has opened its newly-renovated store on Haymarket in London’s St James’s.

The building, former home to Burberry circa 1912, sees its founder Rei Kawakubo combine a number of its original features – including its exterior and central staircase – with a chaotic balance between aesthetic, beauty and innovation to create an experiential communal showspace.

Under Kawakubo’s direction, each label has created their own unique ‘mini home’ that reflects their brand’s ethos, for example, Gosha Rubchinskiy’s unit displays a photographic landscape of Moscovian tower blocks, whereas J.W. Anderson’s space features a playground slide.

Further sightings include Gucci, Liam Hodges, NikeLab, Raf Simons, Sibling, and Palace Skateboards – the label’s first unit outside of its London flagship.

The Dover Street Market London Haymarket Store is open now.
